Lumut is a small town in Perak, on the west coast of Malaysia. Lumut is the gateway to the island of Pangkor. Lumut is a coastal town  in Manjung District, Perak, Malaysia, Lumut is situated about 84 km from Ipoh, 12 km from the town of Sitiawan and it is the one of the main gateway to Pangkor Island.  It is popular for seashell and coral handicrafts. This once little-known fishing town has since become the home base of the Royal Malaysian Navy and the site of the biggest naval shipbuilder in Malaysia, Boustead Naval Shipyard.

Lumut Waterfront is a beautiful and attractive waterfront public park. the architecture of the maritime concept is very interesting. It is equipped with amenities such as Jetty to Pulau Pangkor (Pangkor Island), souvenir shops, seafood stores, food court and open stage. 

Lumut Waterfront is the place to shop, eat, sight-see and get a ride to Pangkor Island. If you are driving to here and plan to go to Pangkor Island for few days, you can park your car for a few days in Lumut, there is a multi-storey carpark that is safe. There are hourly and daily rates.  At night, the waterfront comes alive with food bazaars. You can easily spend up to an hour or two here.
